2025-11-14 ~ 2025-11-19
Reception: 2025-11-14 4-6pm
The Armory Gallery, in collaboration with students from ART 4654 and ART 5546 (Exhibition Design and Display and Advanced Exhibition Design) and the University Libraries’ Virtual Environments Studio and Digital Libraries and Preservation, presents oh my, Butterflies! Befriending Our Appalachian Neighbors. This immersive and interactive exhibition invites visitors to explore the fascinating world of Appalachian butterflies.
Developed as a class project for Professor Skelly’s Exhibition Design and Display and Advanced Exhibition Design courses, this exhibition was collaboratively created by students from Creative Technologies, Arts Leadership, Material Culture and Public Humanities, Studio Art, and Classical Studies. Drawing inspiration from 3D scans of local insects in the University Libraries’ 3D collections, students used these digital specimens as the foundation for the exhibition’s design.
