A project by Anthony Kwame Harrison

Exhibition curated by Deb Sim and Anthony Kwame Harrison Featuring: Paintings by Asa Jackson Film by Karl Precoda and Anthony Kwame Harrison Photographs by Richard Randolph And essays by Anthony Kwame Harrison and Corey Miles

Developed from a project by Anthony Kwame Harrison published in the Paris-based arts journal Dysfunction, White Reign explores racism in the United States through biography as well as personal reflection. Harrison looks at the legacy of James A. “Billboard” Jackson, an unrecognized progenitor of The Negro Motorist Green Book (“the Bible of Black travel during Jim Crow”) and reflects on his own very recent travels on the routes charted in that publication.
